State/Lake CTA Station Renovation

AltusWorks is providing Owner’s Representative services to Chicago’s Department of Transportation in support of the reconstruction of the State/Lake CTA Station. The project includes the demolition of the existing elevated station, preservation of historic elements, and construction of a new, architecturally distinctive flagship State/Lake Loop Station.

AltusWorks’ role includes comprehensive construction management support of the architectural and historic preservation aspects of the project throughout pre-construction, construction, and post-construction/closeout phases. The responsibilities of our services include document control, submittal and RFI management, shop drawing and permit reviews, field inspection and testing coordination, stakeholder coordination, and quality assurance monitoring. The replacement station addresses the challenges of the dense urban fabric with improved vertical circulation, additional station support spaces, new lighting and customer communication systems, an iconic platform canopy, and improvements to surrounding public amenities.
