Crate&Barrel Oakridge Mall
Crate&Barrel, the infamous International Home Furnishings Retailer, engaged AltusWorks to provide Construction Administration services to complete the Interior Tenant Improvements of their new store location at Oakridge Mall in Vancouver BC. Joakim Backstrom, while a Senior Associate at Kathryn Quinn Architects, acted as the Architect and Project Manager for all work related to Crate&Barrel and its sister stores CB2 and Land of Nod. Working alongside Crate&Barrel’s internal architecture group, in the capacity of Associate Architect, Joakim managed 20 Crate&Barrel, 5 Land of Nod, and 6 CB2 projects across the United States and Canada. The sister stores ranged in size from 5,000 to 10,000 square feet interior renovations, whereas the Crate&Barrel homestores, commonly two-story free standing structures or additions, were as large as 35,000 square feet.
